Eastman Kodak Company and Digi-Key Corp have signed an exclusive distribution agreement, allowing Digi-Key to serve as an additional sales channel for Kodak's existing CMOS image sensor portfolio.

Eastman Kodak Company and Digi-Key Corp have signed an exclusive distribution agreement, allowing Digi-Key to serve as an additional sales channel for Kodak's existing CMOS image sensor portfolio.

These products, which transitioned to Kodak with the acquisition of the Imaging group from National Semiconductor Corp, target automotive and industrial applications that are an important component of Kodak's growth strategy for CMOS image sensor (CIS) devices.

Kodak's current CIS devices leverage the power, integration and cost benefits of CMOS-based sensors.

Customers interested in purchasing CIS devices from Kodak can now work directly with either Digi-Key or Kodak's Image Sensor Solutions sales team.

Digi-Key will support Kodak's current CIS product line and associated development tools such as evaluation boards, and will sell these CIS products globally, except in Japan.

"In order to successfully and effectively take advantage of the growth opportunities available in the CMOS market, it was critical for Kodak to establish a sales channel that will allow us to meet customer demand", said Bill Jackson, VP of Sales and Marketing for Kodak's Image Sensor Solutions business.

"Digi-Key's reputation as a leader in electronics distribution and their strong customer sales and support team makes them an ideal partner for Kodak".

"As a complement to our existing direct sales team, we are confident that Digi-Key will provide new ordering and support flexibility for our customers".

"Kodak is known as an imaging leader around the globe and we are pleased to become an exclusive distributor for its current CIS product portfolio", said Mark Larson, President of Digi-Key.

"The use of CIS devices is growing in the industrial and automotive markets and we are very excited to be able to offer our global customers access to Kodak's advanced CMOS image sensors".
