Optical filters, lenses, gratings:
Optical filters are elements that selectively transmit or block a range of wavelengths. A lens is a piece of transparent material with opposite surfaces either or both of which are curved, which can diffract light rays so that they converge or diverge to form an image. A diffraction grating is an optical component with a regular pattern, which splits and diffracts light into several beams.
