TDK releases low-profile multilayer capacitors

TDK has begun mass production of three low-profile, low ESL multilayer ceramic chip capacitors (0816 size, 1005 size, and 0510 size) with profiles of 0.3 mm.
The MLCCs were developed in response to the demand for smaller capacitors with better power efficiency.
The low-profile, low ESL multilayer capacitors are 40 per cent smaller and lighter than earlier TDK products with the same characteristics.
The MLCCs meet the need for compact components with smaller mounting footprints.
TDK expects the products to be used in ultra-mobile PCs and other mobile information terminals, contributing to reductions in the number of components used, space savings and product miniaturisation.
The new MLCC with low ESL are lead free and suitable for mounting with lead-free solder.
The series is also RoHS compliant.
