‘Mlcc’

An Electronicstalk guide

Start with the news release Gold-plated MLCCs eliminate tin whiskering on PCBs from AVX, which we summarised at the time by saying "AVX has expanded its range of multilayer ceramic chips (MLCCs) to include gold-plated terminations that eliminate the use of tin and lead and subsequent tin whiskering events on the PCB. ". Several months prior to that, we featured the news release Kemet releases MLCC for demanding applications from Kemet Electronics: "Kemet has released the KPS Series X7R multilayer ceramic capacitor (MLCC), targeted at the alternative energy, industrial/lighting, automotive, military/aerospace and telecommunications markets.".

In July 2010, we covered the news from Diodes Incorporated - take a look at LDOs ideal for router and LCD monitor applications which says: "Diodes Incorporated has launched a pair of low-dropout linear regulators with an industrial temperature rating of -40C to +85C for applications including set-top boxes, routers and LCD monitors.".

Take a look also at the news release from Mouser Electronics, MLCC capacitors suit automotive applications, as well as Allegro develops multi-output LED RGB driver IC from Allegro Microsystems, and AVX unveils polymer tantalum capacitors from AVX.
