Compact low-power fanless embedded system board is ideal for applications such as gaming control, medical devices, in-vehicle PCs and basic network appliances.

The PEB-2731VLA from American Portwell Technology is a cost-effective low-power 3.5in embedded system board capable of fanless operation.

Based on the Ultra Low Voltage Intel Celeron M 600MHz processor package, Portwell's PEB-2731VLA uses Intel's 825GM and ICH4 chipset/core logic.

Its interface supports both LAN and audio, as well as VGA, LVDS and DVO to fulfil common graphics needs.

The new PEB-2731VLA also includes a Mini-PCI interface for expansion such as Bluetooth or Wi-Fi.

A gold finger running along the short edge of the embedded system board accommodates up to four PCI devices to increase the platform's expansion capabilities.

The unit requires a mere +12V DC power input, which makes it an economical choice for almost every type of embedded application.

Portwell's new PEB-2731VLA compact low-power fanless embedded system board is the ideal solution for applications such as embedded gaming control, medical devices, in-vehicle infotainment (car PCs), and simplified network appliances or devices.

"The PEB-2731VLA is a welcome new addition to Portwell's family of compact, cost-effective devices", says Jack Lam, American Portwell Technology's Senior Product Marketing Manager.

"We designed the PEB-2731VLA's 3.5-inch compact computing engine using the Ultra Low Voltage Intel Celeron M 600MHz processor so that it is a low power and low heat device that can function as a fanless configuration and can even be battery operated".

Frank Shen, American Portwell Technology's Product Marketing Director, reckons the flexibility of functional expansion provided by the gold finger and Mini-PCI bus further cements the PEB-2731VLA as a cost-effective solution for embedded applications.

"Not only that", explains Shen: "but the PEB-2731VLA is also another practical example of Portwell's commitment to providing products with a long life-cycle support".

"The Intel 852GM chipset that resides at the core of this device is a market-proven and reliable architecture and part of Intel's own embedded roadmap, so our customers can be confident that the new PEB-2731VLA is 100% future-proof".
