Windows XP drivers for Moxa's serial boards run perfectly on the WEPOS operating system.

Earlier this year Microsoft announced the availability of its new Windows Embedded for Point of Service software platform, referred to as WEPOS.

This new software platform is based on Microsoft Windows XP Embedded with Service Pack 2.

WEPOS's suitability for retail and hospitality applications makes it the first Microsoft operating system developed for a specific vertical market.

Moxa's multiport serial boards have been popular for many years in the POS/retail industry.

The good news for Moxa's POS/retail customers is that the Windows XP drivers for Moxa's serial boards run perfectly on the WEPOS operating system.

To use Moxa's serial boards with WEPOS, users should download the Windows XP driver for the board.

Moxa multiport serial boards include models that support ISA, PCI, and Universal PCI V2 connection types, serial communication speed up to 921.6Kbit/s, and various connection cables and boxes for RS232/422/485 interfaces.

In addition, the CP-104UL V2, CP-132UL V2 and CP-132UL-I V2 boards are MD1 low profile boards for compact PCs.

For added protection, many boards come with 15kV ESD surge protection and 2kV optical isolation protection.
