The latest Epcos SMT power inductors extend the current range of popular SIMID inductors up to 10A and, wound around a ferrite core, these surface-mounted components are especially well suited to cost-critical volume applications.
These material-saving power inductors are designed for applications such as storage chokes in DC/DC convertors as well as in the EMC sector.
B82470 series inductors feature a low profile 1.2mm height in a 4.8 x 4.8mm footprint for space-conscious applications.
Rated inductance options go from 1 to 47uH, with DC resistance as low as 0.045ohm.
Suitable for lead free reflow soldering, the inductors are supplied in tape-and-reel packaging for automated assembly in production volumes.
SMT power inductors from Epcos are extremely compact and powerful SMT components that can be used wherever low-cost inductors with a rated current of several amps are required within a minimum space.
An obvious example is that of storage chokes in DC/DC convertors operating at small and mid-range powers.
These broaden further Abacus Polar's wide portfolio of passive components, which ranges from standard leaded devices to micro footprint surface mount products.
