We see from your search that you're looking for information on the term "Internet appliances", and we have a large number of manufacturers' news releases and technical articles here on Electronicstalk which will be of interest. Let me be your guide.
Start with the news release Licence to thrill with 3D handset graphics from STMicroelectronics, which we summarised at the time by saying "STMicroelectronics has signed a strategic licence agreement with Advanced Micro Devices to deliver next-generation graphics technology for mobile multimedia devices". A few weeks before, we featured the news release Processors gain optimised Java option from Texas Instruments (April 2006-): "Skelmir's CEE-JT Virtual Machines (VM) for embedded devices have been ported to, and optimised for, TI's DaVinci technology".
In March 2005, we covered the news from Sequoia Technology concerning its TDK 78Q2123 Ethernet PHY - take a look at User friendly Ethernet for consumer electronics which says: "Not only is this fully featured Ethernet interface the smallest in the world, it offers low overall cost per port, plus ease of use features for the new generation of networked consumer electronics".
Take a look also at the news release from LSI Europe, Platform ASIC speeds powerline comms IC to market, as well as RISC processor takes audio codec onboard from Toshiba Electronics Europe, and More features for frugal wireline comms controller from CML Microcircuits.
