Total Frequency Control (TFC) has expanded its range of power inductors with a low-DCR and high-current low-profile package.

The high current is achievable in this compact power inductor as it wastes no air space thanks to the special construction compound.

This consists of the internal wound coil being packed tightly with magnetic iron powder and a shielded case that helps the inductor to produce a much lower audible noise.

Measuring 10.2 x 12.3mm, the DPI1210 series has an inductance range of 0.22-4.7uH and a rated current of 15-56A.

It is suitable for desktop and server applications, DC/DC converters in distributed power systems and VGA graphics cards.

The inductor is low profile in height (approximately 10mm depending on specifications) and has good DC current characteristics at high temperatures, with frequencies ranging up to 5MHz, according to the company.
