Total Frequency Control (TFC) has announced that its X21D sub-miniature tuning fork crystal unit measures just 2 x 1.2 x 0.6mm.

The company said the unit is almost half the size of the X31D and X41D and as a low profile of 0.6mm, which makes it ideal to assist in the size reduction of applications such as mobile phones and PDAs.

Packaging of 3k pieces tape and reel is standard and suitable for automated placement and soldering.

High reliability is achieved using electron beam sealing, and with frequency tolerances starting from +/- 20ppm at 25C, they can be as accurate as their forerunners.

The full range of TFC's smd crystals comply with the European Union's RoHS Directive as standard.
