Receiver chip delivers global support for NTSC, Pal and Secam TV broadcasts, expanding the market for mobile TV.
The TLG1120 from Telegent Systems is billed as the industry's first single-chip CMOS mobile TV receiver supporting worldwide TV broadcast standards.
The TLG1120 delivers global support for NTSC, Pal and Secam TV broadcasts, expanding the market for mobile TV and providing consumers with the same live, familiar content that they view and enjoy in their home.
"With its support for all major broadcast TV standards, the TLG1120 expands the mobile TV market to countries where analogue broadcasts are the only standards available for mobile or fixed TV", says Weijie Yun, President and CEO of Telegent Systems.
"Additionally, operators worldwide can use free-to-air mobile TV to recruit and retain subscribers and as a platform for developing incremental revenue streams from premium content, targeted advertising, increased SMS traffic and data exchange".
The TLG1120 is a high performance, ultra-low power and small footprint solution that is easy to design-in and manufacture.
The TLG1120 delivers the highest level of integration including the RF tuner, demodulator, decoder, video processing, scaler, FM stereo radio and universal interface in a 7 x 7mm QFN package.
It provides the highest sensitivity to deliver a positive consumer experience and ultra-low power for extended TV viewing and portable operation.
Its SureTrak DSP-based multipath and Doppler compensation technology provides stable picture quality for speed sup to 430km/h.
Telegent also provides complete system solutions including antenna design and recommendations, RF design and complete reference design kits.
With its small size, low BOM and easy design-in and implementation, the TLG1120 is ideal for mobile handset, portable media player, portable navigation, in-car and portable entertainment and flat panel display applications.
