Measuring less than 10 x 10 x 1.4mm, the MicroNav FSR is billed as the world's smallest OEM mouse which enables precise, 360-degree cursor navigation.

Supporting solder reflow and pick and place methods for high-volume consumer electronics manufacturing, MicroNav is ideally suited to applications in consumer handheld devices including cellphones, wireless e-mail devices, PDAs, tablet PCs, GPS terminals and even digital cameras.

With the high quality "mouse" navigation provided by the device, traditional key functions for cellphones, web browsing, gaming and image editing, will not only be replaced, but considerably enhanced by MicroNav, with its reduced form factor and 360-degree control.

Using Interlink Electronics' patented FSR force sensing resistor technology, MicroNav delivers smooth pressure-controlled cursor acceleration and a complete set of actuator designs.

The device is currently available in two standard configurations: MicroNav with firmware in the form of object code libraries and MicroNav with a microprocessor available in serial, PS/2 and USB.

A third version is planned for the future, with a MicroNav device mounted on a PCB with a microprocessor and rubber actuator for small- to medium-size footprints where a drop-in cursor control solution is required.
