Johanson offers ceramic-chip balun filter

Johanson Technology, a provider of high-frequency ceramic solutions, has unveiled the 0896FB15A0100 balun filter.
This device was designed for the European 868MHz short-range device (SRD) band, ETSI EN 300 220, and the 915MHz US ISM band.
The ceramic-chip balun filter is said to provide a cost-effective and compact solution, measuring 2.0mm x 1.25mm x 0.95mm.
It is intended for applications requiring harmonic filtering to meet the latest emissions regulations.
Insertion loss is 1.5dB (maximum) with second and third harmonic rejection of 30dB (minimum).
Together with one of Johanson Technology's sub 1GHz ceramic antenna solutions (0868AT43A0026 or 0915AT43A0026), it provides an optimal radio-frequency front-end solution for size-constrained applications.
Atmel Corporation is one of the first adopters of the 0896FB15A0100 in its new reference design for the AT86RF212: a low-power 800/900MHz transceiver for IEEE 802.15.4, 6LoWPAN, Zigbee and other ISM applications.
