Integrated Electronic Solutions is expanding its range of temperature control integrated circuits for thermostat applications with the introduction of IES5521A.
The success of the OM1654A used in hair straighteners has prompted the engineers at IES to design the IES5521A particularly to address the needs of the hair styling tools market.
This includes hair straighteners, hair crimpers, curling irons, hair dryers and hot rollers.
These ICs can bring basic features such as variable temperature control, power indicator and now with IES5521A, a "time-out" timer as safety aspect to end products.
Both OM1654A and IES5521A are simple, cost effective, electronic temperature control integrated circuit with zero crossing triac control.
The IES5521A like the OM1654A offers the simplicity of direct mains operation for triac control of heating elements.
Due to the limited space in hair styling tools for mounting electronic, circuitry manufacturers can take advantage of the small size packaging (SO-8) and low external component count for both integrated circuits.
In addition, the IES5521A features a "time-out" timer that automatically switches the heating element "off" after continuous operation at a predetermined time.
A "time-out" timer is seen as a safety feature for applications such as hair straighteners and curling irons.
The "time-out" time can easily be set from a few minutes up to several hours of operation.
Customers of Integrated Electronic Solutions have gained the benefits of reduced cost in electronic circuitry while achieving excellent results in overall product performance.
Besides hair styling tools, the OM1654A and IES5521A are an efficient and cost effective solution for any applications requiring precision temperature control.
