ITT Interconnect Solutions has introduced its Nemesis connectors, which are sealed, miniature and lightweight to suit the demands of modern or 'future soldier' applications.

The first available WT products are based on the key elements of the MIL-DTL-38999 specification, while a full range of circular and rectangular styles are planned for introduction in the near future.

The future dismounted soldier sector is increasingly using advanced technology to equip its infantry.

Sophisticated command, control, communications, computer and intelligence (C41) systems are being deployed that require reliable interconnection.

Nemesis connectors are fully sealed in the unmated state - water tight to more than 20m - and resistant to salt spray for more than 500 hours.

They also weigh less than 25g, measure less than 15mm in diameter and have an anti-reflecting coat.

It is important, for both future soldier and medical applications, for the user to be able to operate in all conditions.

Being able to clean an interconnect system is a must.

The Nemesis Super Clean (SC) connector solves this problem by means of a pull-back barrel that allows the user to clean the connector and return to full operational functionality in seconds.

Nemesis WT MIL-DTL-38999-style connectors are blind mateable and can feature ITT Cannon's Pogo Pin/Pad and Breakaway technology, which increases the number of mating cycles possible and enables the connectors to be cleaned in the field.

For the full product line, visit ITT on stand 975 at the DSEI Exhibition, Excel, London, from 8-11 September.
