Dual interface keyboard for contact and contactless chip cards targets applications that call for high level of security, while maintaining ease of operation and cost-effectiveness.

Cherry Electrical Products will launch its first keyboard with an inbuilt RFID reader at InfoSec 2008 later this month in London.

The Smartboard G83-6675 is a dual interface product for contact and contactless chip cards, and is targeted at a huge variety of applications that call for high level of security, while maintaining ease of operation and cost-effectiveness.

The built-in RFID reader affords is ISO14443A/B compatible and reads cards at a distance of up to 20mm.

For users who demand the highest performance, Cherry also offers the G81-8070 keyboard that features the top-of-the-range Omni-key RFID reader.

If contact cards are preferred, secure Class 2 PIN entry is delivered via the EMV 2000 level 1 approved PC/SC 2.0 smart card reader.

The 105-key G83-6675 measures 458 x 170 x 52mm.

The keyboards are guaranteed for two years.
