M9 metal connectors ideal for space-critical tasks

Binder-USA has expanded its M9 product line with a robust metal connector shielded with an iris spring.
This addition to the series 712 sub-miniature connectors is ideally suited for industrial and commercial applications in harsh environments, the company said.
The connectors feature an internal iris spring, which simplifies the connection between the cable shield and the connector body.
This concept allows fast and easy installation of a braided or metal foil shield with 360-degree protection from electromagnetic interference.
The M9 metal connectors have a diameter of 14mm, which makes them ideal for applications with limited space.
Both male and female connectors are offered with two, three, four, five, seven and eight gold-plated contacts.
The cable outlet accepts cable diameters from 4-5.5mm.
When properly mated the connection is IP67-rated preventing the ingress of liquids and debris.
Both male and female field-attachable cable connectors are offered with this feature.
Multiple styles of panel-mounted receptacles are available to mate with the new connectors.
The new connectors can also mate with the Series 702 M9 cordsets.
