Start with the news release Multimedia platform enables SH772x development from Renesas Technology, which we summarised at the time by saying "Renesas has announced its Multimedia Solution Linux*1 platform, enabling development of systems incorporating the SH772x Series application processor for low-power multimedia applications.". Several months prior to that, we featured the news release Timesys offers Linux development framework from TimeSys Corp: "The Timesys Linuxlink software-development framework provides Alchemy Au1250 and Au1300 processor users with an intuitive environment for developing Linux-based media and navigation products.".
 
In November 2009, we covered the news from Renesas Technology Europe - take a look at Renesas releases MCUs with 1.5MB SRAM which says: "Renesas Technology Europe has announced the release of eight versions each of the SH7266 and the SH7267, two high-performance 32-bit MCU products with an on-chip SRAM size of 1.5MB.".
