Console manufacturer Soundcraft has sent Prism dScope Series III digital audio analyser units to China, where they are being used as part of its console production process.

Russell Ball, Soundcraft's test manager, says: 'We chose dScope Series III on the basis of our previous good experience with the unit and also because it offers multi-tone testing.

'This involves the simultaneous generation of a number of individual test tones, which are then analysed using FFT analysis.

'Using this feature, our manufacturer can now test all audio frequencies simultaneously, which results in a significant reduction in test time.

Comprising a Windows PC software application coupled with an external high-precision audio interface processor for equipment-under-test (EUT) connections, dScope Series III's architecture uses the Windows platform to allow the system to measure many parameters simultaneously.

The unit is highly programmable, making it easy to integrate into an automated production line testing environment.

It can also be automated from a wide range of third-party software using ActiveX controls, making it possible to automate and remotely control virtually every one of its features and test functions.
