New thick film potentiometers combine a metal shaft with a ceramic housing to provide smooth linear operation and low-noise performance.

Bridging the gap between low-power high-resistance potentiometers and high-power lower-resistance wirewound rheostats, Ohmite's new PE Series thick film potentiometers have a metal shaft and ceramic housing to provide a smooth linear operation and low noise performance.

Rated at 5W, the PE Series is available in resistance ranges from 50ohm to 20Mohm with a standard tolerance of 20%.

Being a combination of rugged Ohmite wirewound rheostat construction with the thick film expertise of the Victoreen Components Division, the potentiometers are designed for the industrial environment and have a rotational life of 25,000 cycles.

With a dielectric strength of 900V RMS and an ambient operating temperature of -65 to +125C, this is a component suited to tough conditions.
