IDT has introduced a range of repeater devices that support the SAS/SATA 6G, PCI Express Gen2 (PCIe), Serial RapidIO 2.1 and USB3.0 standards for computing, storage and communications applications.

The solutions combine analogue performance, low power and system-level features tailored to application-specific protocol requirements.

Following the IDT Power Smart initiative, the devices are also optimised to provide the lowest possible power consumption.

The IDT 89HP0XD X range conditions high-speed IO when driving onboard long traces, backplane traces and cables to external devices, providing the best possible signal integrity and alleviating board-layout constraints.

The devices incorporate advanced receive equalisation and transmit de-emphasis capabilities, as well as diagnostic features that help achieve a simplified design.

They include loss-of-signal (LOS) detection and individual channel-loopback diagnostic capabilities, as well as 2:1 mux/demux functions.

The IDT 89HP0XD X range targets any environment where the transmission of high-speed signals over long distances without sacrificing signal integrity is required, such as computing, storage, telecommunications, industrial and active cables.

IDT is currently sampling the four-channel option, with two- and eight-channel options sampling in early 2010.
