BVM has introduced a high-end video and audio capture Mini-PCI card that supports the H.264 MPEG-4 video compression standard, digitally encoding four channels at 120fps with full D1 resolution.

The MP-840 card is designed for professional A/V studio pre- and post-production applications and data storage in CCTV security systems and any system where the digital storage of high-quality video and audio is required.

The card includes four high-quality NTSC/PAL video decoders that convert analogue composite video signals to digital data, four 10-bit analogue-to-digital converters (ADCs) and four 2D and 3D comb filters for separating luminance and chrominance to reduce cross noise artefacts.

The MP-840 also includes four audio ADCs and four channels of adaptive differential pulse code modulation (ADPCM) audio encode to reduce bandwidth requirements.

Also available is an application development suite, optimised for system integration with a set of functions that eases integration into DVR system software and accelerates the time to market.

The functions include H.264 baseline profile, live-mode D1 display, H.264 recording at 120fps, quality control, frame rate control, VBR, CBR and Hybrid-VBR support, watermark function, de-interlace, video loss check, bitmap OSD, motion detection, network streaming and direct draw display mode.
