Advantech has released its most powerful open frame computing box to date: the ES-200-80 is designed to reduce costs and ease integration of kiosk applications.
Advantech has released its most powerful open frame computing box to date: the ES-200-80 is designed to reduce costs and ease integration of kiosk applications, and also supports Intel Pentium 4 processors up to 3.06GHz.
The ES-200-80 is clearly focused on the market for processing-intensive kiosk solutions.
The demand for more processing power is increasing.
"ES-200-80 is ideal for new graphics-intensive kiosk applications like photo processing systems and multimedia applications with video and speech", said Lino Li, Product Manager at Advantech.
"There is also an increasing demand for publicly accessible computers with encryption, Internet connection and versatile I/O ports".
"The ES-200-80 has it all".
The SBC has an Intel Pentium 4 CPU with hyper threading.
There are two DIMM sockets for up to 2Gbyte of memory.
A combo CD-ROM drive and 3.5in HDD takes care of storage.
Networking and communication is available with a 10/100Base-T Ethernet controller, four serial ports and a parallel port.
And there are two USB 2.0 ports, a VGA port, audio ports, PS/2 ports and one PCI 2.2 slot.
And somehow it all fits into a box that is only 354 x 226 x 115mm, and therefore easily fits into various kiosk solutions.
The ES-200-80 belongs to Advantech's OFPC series of open frame panel computers, designed to provide flexibility, great performance and easy integration.
The OFPC product line includes touch panel LCD monitors and computer system boxes.
Because of their modular design, customers can choose the LCD panel configuration that suits their application best, and also use numerous third-party components.
The ES-200-80 is already available, and should receive a warm welcome with kiosk application system integrators.
