The AIMB-744 is a new high performance ATX industrial motherboard from Advantech.

The AIMB-744 is a new high performance ATX industrial motherboard from Advantech.

Using the Intel 875P and 6300ESB chipset, AIMB-744 features an Intel Pentium 4 400/533/800MHz FSB with Hyper-Threading Technology.

The new board is designed to fulfil requirements for high-speed upgrades as well as bandwidth-hungry network applications.

The AIMB-744 supports dual channel DDR 400 memory up to 4Gbyte with ECC, two SATA (Serial ATA) devices, two PCI-X (64bit/66MHz) slots, four PCI (32bit/33MHz) slots, an AGP 8X slot, as well as dual Gigabit LAN ports.

Like other Advantech products, the AIMB-744 is designed with long-life component supply support of at least 5 years guaranteed.

Equipped with the Intel 875P chipset, the AIMB-744 supports Intel Pentium 4 and Celeron processors up to 3.4/2.8GHz with HT technology.

HT technology is ideal for real-time control systems as it enables multithreaded software applications to execute threads in parallel, greatly boosting performance.

Along with the 6300ESB chipset, two SATA devices are featured with simpler, longer, thinner cabling, delivering higher data transfer rates up to 150Mbyte/s.

Four DDR 400 SDRAM DIMMs (supporting ECC) provide memory capacity up to a maximum 4Gbyte, giving memory bandwidth up to 6.4Gbyte/s for high-end applications.

The AIMB-744 performs high-speed data transmission using Intel's CSA (Communications Streaming Architecture), a dedicated network bus that delivers full-duplex capabilities.

The Intel 82547 controller reduces PCI bottlenecks and maximises network data flow through dual 10/100/1000Base-T Ethernet ports.

The AIMB-744 has multiple high-performance onboard I/O capability with up to four USB 2.0 ports and optional CompactFlash socket.

Multiple expansion options with an AGP 8X slot, two PCI-X slots and four PCI slots provide flexibility without additional cost.

The AIMB-744 has all the necessary industrial features such as long MTBF, watchdog timer, wide operating temperature range and CMOS data backup.

Additionally, a custom BIOS service is available to build in specific functions.

SNMP management intelligence allows users to remotely manage and monitor the system via a browser over the network.

Designed with system compatibility considerations, users have the flexibility to build their systems with Advantech's 1, 2, 4, 5 and 7U rack and wall-mounting chassis for their specific applications.

The AIMB-744 will be available from the middle of August 2004.
