The FWA-3140 is a new high-performance 1U rack-mount Internet security platform based on an Intel Pentium 4 processor.
The FWA-3140 is a new high-performance 1U rack-mount Internet security platform based on an Intel Pentium 4 processor.
This latest addition to the Advantech FWA series raises the benchmark in high-performance Internet security appliances.
The FWA-3140 supports CompactFlash for OS and Internet security applications.
This avoids service disruption caused by hard disk mechanical/magnetic failures.
In addition, the FWA-3140 can support up to 2Gbyte DDR system memory.
Both CompactFlash and memory can be accessed and replaced for software upgrades through an easily removable cover.
Designed with the plug-and-serve concept in mind, the FWA-3140 offers four 10/100Mbit/s auto-sensing Fast Ethernet ports in the front panel.
There are two LED indicators that monitor power and HDD activities.
For easy access, the front panel has a 9-pin, RS232 serial port for local system management, maintenance and diagnostics.
Moreover, the FWA-3140 provides optional 3.5in IDE HDD and two PCI slots.
NAD's Internet security platforms not only help solution vendors and system integrators (SI) turn their own Firewall/VPN/IDS hardware and software into turnkey solutions, but also can be simply modified into their exact project specifications.
Customers can focus on their innovative products while provide added-value services, and meet their target time-to-market.

The FWA-3140 will be available by the end of May.
