Scopes show mixed-signal multichannel capabilities
The DL7400 Series of digital oscilloscopes features an unprecedented mixed-signal multichannel capability.
The new DL7400 Series of digital oscilloscopes from Yokogawa features an unprecedented mixed-signal, multichannel capability, combining up to eight analogue input channels with a 16bit logic input channel while simultaneously achieving a maximum sampling rate of 2Gsample/s, a bandwidth of 500MHz and a maximum memory capacity of 16Mword.
The new instruments have been developed to address the trend to increasingly high-speed electronic circuits, which has led to the need to observe logic signals not only as a sequence of logical high and low states, but also as waveforms.
The DL7400 Series allows designers working with logic control circuitry to observe mixed-signal waveforms from both high-speed analogue and control logic signals.
It also helps users to control costs and improve R and D efficiency by providing a single instrument which can make multichannel observations in both the analogue and digital environments.
As the logic signals used in the control systems of audiovisual products and PC peripherals are becoming faster, users demand increasingly higher-speed sampling, which is catered for in the DL7400 Series by the 2Gsample/s sampling rate and the 500MHz bandwidth.
With a maximum memory length of 16Mword, the DL7400 Series also addresses the industry's need for longer memories: not just for measurements over long periods but also for capturing fixed-timeframe waveforms at higher sampling rates.
The DL7400 series of digital oscilloscopes can simultaneously observe signals from up to 24 measurement points through its combination of up to eight analogue input and 16bit logic input channels.
This feature lets users view the high-speed logic signals of PC peripherals such as flat panel displays or printers in an analogue manner, allowing observations on the timing relationship with other logic signals while simultaneously observing noise or waveform quality.
Like other instruments in Yokogawa's SignalExplorer Series, the DL7400 Series incorporates a wide choice of data analysis and search functions, including history search, cycle statistics, pulse count and serial pattern search.
Powerful trigger capabilities and user-defined mathematics add to the instruments' versatility.
The DL7400 Series includes PC card and USB interfaces as standard, and SCSI and Ethernet interfaces as options.
PC-based software is available for remote control and data analysis, and the instrument can be configured as a web server for file transfer, e-mail, data capture and trend analysis.
With dimensions of 373 x 210.5 x 355.3mm and a weight of 11kg, the volume of the DL7400 series is 30% less than that of its predecessors, and its weight is 40% less.
In addition, the DL7400 consumes 50% less power than previous models.
