Digital oscilloscope comes with 8Mword of memory, costing less than Eur 4500 for a four-channel instrument.

Yokogawa Europe is now offering an 8Mword version of its DL1640 digital oscilloscope at the same price as the standard 100Kword model: less than Eur 4500 for a four-channel instrument.

The long memory and overall measurement and analysis capabilities, coupled with built-in real-time digital filtering, offer significant benefits to customers, particular in challenging areas like serial bus analysis.

The long memory enables long-duration, multichannel observations to be made without sacrificing high-speed sampling, while the real-time digital filter extracts signals buried in high-speed noise.

The instrument features four-channel operation with 200Msample/s sampling and a 200MHz analogue bandwidth.

The compact size (220 x 266 x 268mm) means that the units occupy less than an A4 footprint on a test bench or desktop, while the light weight of only 3.9kg makes the oscilloscopes easily portable.

The DL1640 uses a 6.4in wide-angle TFT colour liquid-crystal display screen, and offers a choice of a PC card drive, Zip drive or floppy drive for internal storage.

A wide range of interfaces includes optional USB and Ethernet connectivity.

A web search function allows easy file transfer, waveform monitoring, and parameter trend graph plotting on standard browser software such as Microsoft Internet Explorer, and the PC card interface supports large-capacity microdrive and hard disk cards.
