Scopes analyse automotive buses
SignalXplorer DL9000 Series digital oscilloscopes now include LINbus analysis.
An analysis function for the LINbus, widely used as an in-vehicle LAN protocol for automotive applications, has been added to the large set of serial bus analysis functions available on the Yokogawa SignalXplorer DL9000 Series of digital oscilloscopes.
As with the existing CAN bus analysis function, the oscilloscope displays the analysis results as waveforms, at high real-time speeds.
A LIN bus trigger comes as standard with the new option, and signal capture can be triggered based on combinations of break (top of frame), CAN, and analogue signals (sequence trigger).
Two buses (such as a combination of the LIN and CANbus) can be analysed simultaneously.
The package includes an analysis results decode display (for CAN and LIN), and analysis results can be saved to a file in text format.
A data search function allows data searches by combinations of synchronisation or ID/data fields.
When an item in the list of analysis results is selected, the relevant waveform is automatically shown in a "zoom" window, allowing protocol errors to be quickly compared with the physical-layer waveform and speeding up development and debugging.
The voltage threshold levels for the protocol analysis can be varied to allow scenario or "what if?" analysis of decoded results.
The Yokogawa SignalXplorer DL9000 Series of oscilloscopes includes models with bandwidths of 500MHz, 1GHz and 1.5GHz, sampling rates of 2.5 and 5Gsample/s per channel, and memory depths of 2.5 and 6.25Mword per channel.
