The new DL1640S incorporates most of the measurement and display features of the top-end DL1640L model, and with a price of less than GBP 3500 it offers exceptional value for money for an instrument with 100Kword of memory per channel, 200Msample/s sampling and 200MHz bandwidth.
Other features of the four-channel DL1640S include real-time digital filtering, dual-zoom capability for examining captured waveforms in detail, high-speed screen refresh, and smart search functions.
The DL1640S uses a 6.4in wide-angle TFT colour liquid-crystal display screen, and is housed in a compact package measuring only 220 x 266 x 268mm.
As a result, the unit occupies less than an A4 size 'footprint' on a test bench or desktop.
The light weight of only 3.9kg makes the oscilloscopes easily portable.
Captured data can be stored externally using a PC card drive or Zip drive; a floppy disk drive is also provided for internal storage.
A wide range of interfaces includes optional USB and Ethernet connectivity.
A web search function allows easy file transfer, waveform monitoring, and parameter trend graph plotting on standard browser software such as Microsoft Internet Explorer, while the PC card interface supports large-capacity microdrive and hard disk cards.
