Bluetooth analysis via the USB

At the Embedded Systems Show Yokogawa Martron is introducing a new Bluetooth analyser to complement its range of test and measurement tools for communications and bus protocol analysis.

At the Embedded Systems Show (Excel, London, 16-17th May 2001), Yokogawa Martron is introducing a new Bluetooth analyser to complement the already extensive range of Yokogawa test and measurement tools for communications and bus protocol analysis.

The new BX1000 is designed for use with an external PC, to which it is linked via a USB interface.

Dedicated BX1000 software runs on the PC to provide all the necessary analysis functions for the Bluetooth environment.

It is compliant with Bluetooth specification Version 1.0b, and provides analysis functions for core protocols including L2CAP, SDP and RFCOMM.

The system can be used to create a piconet, and to analyse the connection status of, and information captured from, each Bluetooth unit in the Piconet.

It can also build and generate sequences of HCI commands, while simultaneously receiving HCI events.

In addition, profile support is optionally available to enable application layer analysis.

The software formats the information in a clear, easy-to-read display, showing all command generation and display events as well as the overall command sequence throughout the piconet.

The BX1000 can also be used for sending and receiving files containing profile analyses, including total analysis in the upper layer.

The unit is small enough to be used for mobile applications, and receives its power via the USB cable so that an external AC power source is not required.
