Distribution adds global
dimensions to MCU sales

Cyan is the UK fabless semiconductor company that developed the innovative eCOG1 ultra-low-power configurable 16bit RISC microcontroller. Together with the company's innovative and unique CyanIDE development and configuration software suite, the device is ideally suited to new generation communications applications.
Cyan's latest distribution agreements include Micro Puissance in France, Nijkerk for both Holland and Belgium, MB Silicon Systems in South Africa and Computer Controls covering Switzerland and several of the of Eastern Block countries.
Paul Barwick, Cyan's Director of Sales and Marketing, said: "Our eCOG1 microcontroller is attracting interest all over the world".
"These appointments represent important steps in building a chain of distribution partners that will help us to develop and support the potentially huge world market in applications areas like wireless CCTV, EPOS, asset tracking and low cost PDA".
The distributors have all been chosen for their ability to provide technical design support and their strengths in market sectors for which the Cyan microcontroller provides an advantageous solution.
Micro Puissance was founded in France in 1988.

Nijkerk Electronics, founded in 1959, was one of the first distributors of electronic components in the Benelux.
The company is well known in the region for innovative component solutions from world class manufacturers including semiconductors, passive components and flat panel displays.
With this well balanced product portfolio, Nijkerk Electronics has acquired considerable expertise in key market segments such as communications, industrial controls, medical, video and imaging and point-of-sale.
The company employs approximately 25 people who work in close co-operation with manufacturers to advise customers about new product developments and to offer innovative solutions and discuss development roadmaps.

MB Silicon Systems is an independent technical distributor of electronic components and manufacturer representative, covering the whole of South Africa.
