MCU maker supports Essex students
Cyan Technology has joined forces with the University of Essex's Department of Computer Science to provide students with state-of-the-art computer equipment
Cyan Technology, the UK's only microcontroller manufacturer, has joined forces with the University of Essex's Department of Computer Science to provide students with state-of-the-art computer equipment. Cyan has donated 100 of its embedded microcontroller development boards to help teach embedded design to undergraduates studying in the Department of Computer Science.

Formally launched in September, the collaboration promises to be the beginning of a long-term partnership to assist the teaching of embedded design skills.
Cyan is also working closely with the university to put together a framework for its involvement in sponsoring a prise for the best final year project.
Through the collaboration The University of Essex becomes the first educational establishment in the UK to use Cyan's microcontrollers.

The development kit is designed to give the designer full access to all of the microcontroller's functionality.
CyanIDE, Cyan's class leading software development environment for applications development and microcontroller configuration is also included.
Together these tools enable designers to rapidly implement an optimised, cost effective design.
