Wireless LAN module comes with heavyweight support
Agreement will allow UR Group to sell and design-in subassemblies incorporating Metalink chipsets into 802.11a routers.
UR Group has been appointed by NXP Semiconductors to support the pan-European introduction of the MRX2000 series wireless LAN module which conforms to the IEEE802.11n Draft 2.0 standard.
This agreement will allow UR Group to sell and design-in subassemblies incorporating the Metalink chipsets into 802.11a routers.
The new MRX2000 series wireless LAN module from NXP requires a higher level of technical capability; UR Group, headquartered in Milan, Italy, along with its subsidiaries in Germany, France, Spain, Austria, Sweden, Israel and the UK, is now authorised to offer and sell products and services associated with the MRX2000 series of modules from the NXP Business Line RF Solutions.
The MRX2010 module operates in the 2.4GHz as well as the 5GHz frequency range.
Backwards compatibility to today's established modes 802.11 a/b/g is guaranteed.
Separated into function blocks, both the form factor and the electrical interface comply to the Mini-PCI interface standard (mPCI type IIIA).
"This presents us with a unique opportunity to demonstrate our higher technical capabilities and support the European introduction of a strong line of products from NXP", says Joe Matano, Managing Director of UR Group.
"The IEEE802.11n Draft 2.0 standard opens up fresh challenges and we are looking forward to developing effective solutions which will include these modules".
