Start with the news release DIN-rail system enables IP video surveillance from Axiomtek, which we summarised at the time by saying "The rBOX104 DIN-rail embedded system offers four PoE ports for intelligent transportation systems, power plant automation, facility-monitoring systems, IP video surveillance, APs and intercoms.". Several months prior to that, we featured the news release RJ connectors for broadcast studio applications from Harting: "Harting has launched the RJ45 Cat 7a connectors, offering tool-free termination for 10-Gigabit Ethernet cabling in broadcast studio installations.".
In July 2010, we covered the news from Axiomtek - take a look at PoE switches for security surveillance tasks which says: "Axiomtek has introduced the Icon-78000 series of industrial harden managed Power of Ethernet (PoE) switches, suitable for outdoor applications such as PoE IP cameras, PoE access points and intercoms.".
Take a look also at the news release from Asix Electronics, Asix offers controller for embedded Ethernet use, as well as Platform connects transceivers to Ethernet cables from Pulse, and Phihong develops SNMP-enabled mid-span device from Phihong.
