UL increases PCB test and certification services
Underwriters Laboratories (UL) has announced that Microtek Laboratories, a provider of engineering and testing services, has signed a Preferred Partner Agreement with UL.
This agreement with Microtek expands UL's services for printed circuit boards (PCBs) and provides PCB manufacturers with comprehensive conformance testing and certification services.
'The Preferred Partner Program will enable PCB manufacturers to work between UL and Microtek to receive a complete suite of services required to get to market quickly,' said Truda Chow, PCB business development manager, UL High-Tech Industry.
'By partnering with Microtek, UL can offer solutions for China market access and performance evaluations,' he added.
The Preferred Partner Program covers testing under UL standards for PCBs, including UL 94, the test for flammability of plastic materials for parts in devices and appliances; UL 796, the test for printed wiring boards; and UL 796F, the test for flexible materials interconnect constructions.
Through the Preferred Partner Program, PCB manufacturers working with UL can also use the extra services from Microtek.
These services include testing and certification to CQC-V084 for the China market, performance and reliability testing to various IPC standards and environmental simulation, among others.
