Regulator brings military batteries down
An aluminium, snap-on battery regulator can be used to regulate the voltage of the military-standard BA-5590 battery down to 19, 16 or 5V.
US military supplier Tactical Engineering has developed an aluminium, snap-on battery regulator that can be used to regulate the voltage of a BA-5590 battery down to 19, 16 or 5V, allowing field personnel to power computers, radios and other electronic devices which would not ordinarily be compatible with the BA-5590.
The battlefield's growing reliance on electronics has created a need for a readily available DC power source.
The high-energy lithium sulphur dioxide BA-5590 battery is the most widely used battery in the military.
Adapting this battery for use with laptops, cameras, GPS receivers, radios and other field equipment can be of great advantage in mission critical applications.
A dual output version is also available which can power two devices, of different voltage requirements, simultaneously.
A cigarette lighter adapter cable and a NATO plug adapter are also available, allowing the regulator to be connected to any 12/24V auto charger or 24V NATO plug.
