Mobile WiMAX testers set the standard

Rohde and Schwarz underscored its position as a leading supplier of WiMAX test and measurement equipment at the WiMAX Forum's 5th Plugfest.

The WiMAX Forum's 5th Plugfest, held in early October at Bechtel Labs in the USA, was the industry's first public plugfest dedicated to mobile WiMAX based on the IEEE802.16-e 2005 and ETSI HiperMAN 1.3.1 standards.

At the event, Rohde and Schwarz again underscored its position as a leading supplier of WiMAX test and measurement equipment.

Market-established WiMAX OFDM/OFDMA measuring instruments such as the R and S SMU200A vector signal generator with integrated channel simulator and the R and S FSQ signal analyser were successfully used to support manufacturers of mobile WiMAX basestations and mobile stations at the plugfest.

In addition, the Munich-based electronics group is one of two companies in the world selected by WiMAX Forum as a manufacturer for mobile WiMAX radio conformance test testers (RCTT).

The R and S TS8970 is based on the concepts used in the market-leading R and S TS8950GW 2G/3G radio conformance test system.

And the R and S SMU200A and the R and S FSQ are used for WiMAX radio conformance tests.
