Microwave measurements on show in Manchester
At the ninth European Microwave Week in Manchester (10th to 15th September 2006), Rohde and Schwarz will again demonstrate its expertise in all aspects of microwave measurement technology.
At the ninth European Microwave Week in Manchester (10th to 15th September 2006), Rohde and Schwarz will again demonstrate its expertise in all aspects of microwave measurement technology.
The new R and S ZVA40 network analyser follows the trend toward covering ever higher frequency ranges, and is just one of four highlights the Munich-based electronics company will showcase this year.
The R and S FSUP signal source analyser combines a spectrum analyser up to 50GHz and a phase noise tester in a single instrument.
The high-end R and S SMA100A signal generator now comes with a frequency range up to 6GHz.
The new R and S ESU family of EMI test receivers offers measurement speeds up to 100 times higher.
And last but not least, the company will present reliable and standard-compliant measurement solutions for LXI and WiMAX applications in addition to its R and S AFQ100A I/Q modulation generator.
The R and S ZVA40 is a high-end network analyser with a frequency range from 10MHz to 40GHz.
Featuring a unique output power of typically better than 18dBm, a dynamic range of typically wider than 150dB and a high measurement speed of 3.5us per test point, the R and S ZVA40 is the ideal instrument for universal measurements in the microwave range.
Applications include filter, mixer and amplifier tests in R and D, measurements on wavers in chip production, and antenna measurements in the radar/satellite domain.
The R and S FSUP is billed as the first instrument specially designed for measuring phase noise and for characterising RF signal sources.
The instrument incorporates the company's many years of experience in developing high-quality spectrum analysers and low-noise oscillators and synthesisers.
It is the only instrument in the world that combines a spectrum analyser and a phase noise tester up to 8, 26.5 or 50GHz.
Users will profit from simpler and more flexible test sets at a considerably lower price.
Rohde and Schwarz has expanded the frequency range of its analogue high-end R and S SMA100A signal generator.
The instrument can now be used for applications up to 3GHz - and optionally 6GHz - in the lab, production and service.
Equipped with the R and S SMA-K25 option, the R and S SMA100A can even generate VOR/ILS signals for tests on radio navigation receivers.
The signal generator offers excellent signal quality, short setting times and a compact design.
The R and S ESU is a new family of CISPR16-1-1-compliant EMI test receivers that meet all civil and military standards for electromagnetic interference measurements.
New FFT-based test methods speed up the measurement.
With the time-domain scan, users can perform overview measurements up to 100 faster than on previous EMI test receivers.
The instrument also features comprehensive test functions such as a complete set of parallel detectors including the new CISPR-RMS detector, RF scan, IF analysis and numerous report functions.
The R and S ESU is available in three models with frequency ranges from 20Hz to 8, 26.5 and 40GHz.
The R and S AFQ100A I/Q modulation generator excels by providing a memory clock of 300MHz combined with a memory depth of up to 1Gsample.
Its outstanding signal quality and high flexibility make the R and S AFQ100A ideal for use in R and D and production when you need to generate complex digital modulation signals.
It is available with an output memory of 256Msample or 1Gsample; in addition to analogue outputs, it can also be fitted with digital I/Q outputs.
The high-end R and S SMU200A signal generator and the other members of the R and S SMx family - the R and S SMATE200A and the R and S SMJ100A - meet the Class C specifications defined by the standard.
The signal generators are the second product group from Rohde and Schwarz to offer LXI compatibility.
In March this year, the R and S FSQ, the R and S FSU, the R and S FSP and the R and S FSL received Class C certification as the first spectrum analysers worldwide.
Shortly after the WiMAX Forum selected Rohde and Schwarz as one of the manufacturers for the development of radio conformance test testers (RCTT) in compliance with the IEEE802.16e-2005 Mobile WiMAX standard, Rohde and Schwarz Taiwan made the first score: the Institute for Information Industry (III) decided in favour of the Rohde and Schwarz solution after an official invitation to tender.
Based on validated test cases, the R and S TS8970 test system serves as a reference solution for the certification of WiMAX end products.
It is based on the concept of the market-leading R and S TS8950GW 2G/3G RF conformance test system.
The R and S TS8970 is also suitable for R and D applications and precompliance testing.
The Rohde and Schwarz WiMAX RF conformance test systems are implemented with WiMAX OFDM/OFDMA measuring instruments, including the signal generators of the R and S SMx family - R and S SMU200A, R and S SMATE200A and R and S SMJ100A - and the R and S FSQ and R and S FSL signal analysers.
