The NS9750 is the first in NetSilicon's new family of ARM9-based NET+ARM microprocessors.

Based on the ARM 926EJ-S, ARM's most powerful ARM 9 core processor, the NS9360 provides an outstanding level of functionality featuring a broad array of industry-standard interfaces such as 10/100Base-T Ethernet, a memory controller, USB (both host and device), an LCD controller, I2C, IEEE1284, as well as four serial ports and up to 73 GPIOs.
The chip operates at speeds of up to 177MHz, is packaged in a 27 x 27mm 272-pin PBGA, and given its tightly integrated set of peripherals is a cost effective solution priced from $10.95 to $15.45 in 10,000 piece quantities.
The processor begins advanced OEM sampling in November and enters full production in March 2005.
It is ideal for customers in industrial automation, building automation, medical automation, instrumentation, networked displays, networked terminals, and industrial and point-of-sale printers.
"Our entire family of NET+ARM processors, supported by our NET+Works development tools and device networking software suite, makes device networking easy and provides a seamless migration path across NetSilicon's processors and Digi's device server and embedded networking module products", Counihan added.
"This further reduces design cost by allowing customers to leverage previous software investment across multiple products".
The NET+ARM family is supported by NetSilicon's NET+Works software suite.
The NET+Works package helps companies to network their embedded devices by eliminating the burden of software sourcing, integration and maintenance.
The kit includes a development board, JTAG debugger, Gnu or Green Hills Multi tools, a board support package, the Threadx real-time operating system, a TCP/IP stack and a rich set of device networking applications software.
The integrated approach of the NET+Works development tool suite helps customers achieve dramatic time-to-market reductions, reduce product unit costs, save engineering resources and reduce design risk.
The NS9360 is also supported by Linux, Windows CE, and JVM products developed in conjunction with third parties.
