The NetSilicon DPO4000 is is a key part of Datamax's I- and W -Class industrial label printers

The NetSilicon DPO4000, is shipping in Datamax's I- and W -Class industrial label printers. The DPO4000 provides the foundation for Datamax's DMXNet print server card, an internal network interface controller that enables the printer to provide Ethernet/Internet connectivity. The DPO4000 is based on NetSilicon's NET+ARM family of network-attached processors and its NET+Works development tools suite.

This partnership furthers NetSilicon's expansion into industrial printing applications.

Datamax's label printers, used by some of the world's largest retail chains and department stores, are network-enabled, specialised printers used in retail distribution centres, and warehouses worldwide.

"To meet growing customer demand, we wanted our I- and W-class printers to have the ability to connect to networks, and we sought a partner with the products and expertise to meet our stringent demands", said Doug Salvador, Director of Marketing for Datamax.

"We chose NetSilicon because of the company's outstanding track record of providing leading edge networking products in one integrated platform, and for its reputation of providing comprehensive technical support".

"Datamax looked to NetSilicon to provide a sophisticated networking solution that would grow with their networking requirements", commented Bruce Berger General Manager of NetSilicon.

"Our DPO4000, which leverages the NET+ARM and NET+Works platform technologies, provided Datamax's engineers with a easy to use, comprehensive, and cost-effective solution for their printing applications, saving Datamax valuable product development time".

NetSilicon's DPO4000 is a complete, turnkey network interface card based on NetSilicon's 32bit NET+ARM networked microprocessor for high-performance data throughput at the lowest total cost.

The DPO4000 leverages the comprehensive capabilities of NetSilicon's NET+Works embedded software including the network protocol stack, and an embedded web server.

And NetSilicon's industry-proven Internet printing protocols allow seamless printing and management in a wide range of environments including Windows, Novell Netware, AppleTalk and Unix.

Installed inside a printer, the DPO4000 can connect to any 10/100BaseT Ethernet network with its support of TCP/IP, AppleTalk and IPX/SPX protocols.

Services and applications can be managed from any SNMP console or a Web browser, offering end-users flexibility in configuring and administering imaging devices.
