Micrium has successfully ported its uC/OS-II real time operating system (RTOS) and uC/TCP-IP stack to ST Microelectronics' STR9 and STR7 processor families

In addition, Micrium will include complete working RTOS and TCP/IP projects in IAR Systems' STR912 evaluationboard. 'Micrium's embedded software products are among the most requested for implementation in our development platforms', stated Dominique Jugnon, microcontroller Developments Tools Manager for ST Microelectronics.

'Micrium not only fully supports our products with quality software, but also supports the design engineering community through participation in ST's training seminars to facilitate development on the STR7 and STR9 processor platforms'.

Micrium's RTOS and TCP/IP stack were the first to be ported to the STR9 (ARM9) family, and both uC/OS-II and uC/TCP-IP were used to validate the STR9 processor.

Micrium also fully supports the STR7 line of ARM7 processors including the recently released STR750.

'ST has consistently made every effort to facilitate the design engineer's job through delivery of quality ARM-based processors and training and support programs', stated Jean Labrosse, President of Micrium.

'Bringing Micrium's royalty-free RTOS and TCP/IP stacks, including complete source code, to the STR7 and STR9 processor families clearly enhances its product offerings to the development community'.

uC/OS-II is a highly portable, ROMable, scalable, preemptive, real-time, multitasking kernel.

uC/OS-II is written in ANSI C.

uC/OS-II meets the demanding requirements of the RTCA DO-178B standard for software used in avionics equipment.

uC/TCP-IP is a compact, reliable, high performance TCP/IP protocol stack.

Built from the ground up to be both scalable and highly reliable, uC/TCP-IP enables the rapid configuration of required network options to minimise time to market.

Ports of uC/OS-II and uC/TCP-IP for STR processors are available on the Micrium website.
