The RTOS provides excellent source code at a competitive price and will be included in AMCC's Acadia Evaluation Kit. 'We believe that features of uC/OS-II are well matched to the requirements of the industrial control and industrial automation markets for which the 405EZ was designed', said Charlie Ashton, Director of Software at AMCC.
'We look forward to a successful partnership with Micrium around this platform'.
uC/OS-II is a highly portable, ROMable, scalable, pre-emptive, real-time, multitasking kernel, written in ANSI C.
It is a cost-effective, royalty-free RTOS that meets the demanding requirements of the RTCA DO-178B standard for software used in avionics equipment.
uC/OS-II comes with excellent documentation and customer support.
'The PowerPC market represents a continually increasing share of our market', stated Jean Labrosse, President of Micrium.
'Bringing uC/OS-II support to AMCC's 405EZ processor allows us to support a solid chipset as well as to grow our own PowerPC portfolio'.
