Delivering performance up to 180MHz, the RC32336 Interprise processor offers designers of wireless gateway, wireless access point equipment, SOHO gateways, SOHO routers and managed Layer-2 Ethernet switches increased functionality and integration, allowing for connectivity to a wide range of networking devices including wireless local area network (WLAN) chipsets. The RC32336 Interprise integrated communications processor incorporates a 32bit MIPS CPU core operating up to 180MHz and is compatible with a range of real-time operating systems, including Linux and VxWorks. The addition of two Ethernet MACs with industry standard media independent interfaces (MII) provides connectivity to a wide range of networking devices and equipment.

The RC32336 Interprise processor also integrates a 16bit PCMCIA version 2.1 interface that provides system designers with a seamless connection to a range of peripherals and chipsets, including WLAN solutions.

Like existing members of the Interprise PCI family, the RC32336 Interprise processor incorporates a 32bit version 2.2 peripheral component interconnect (PCI) controller, as well as an SDRAM memory controller that interfaces to a full range of industry-standard memory products, enabling designs optimised for cost and board real estate conservation.

The RC32336 Interprise processor is software compatible with the other members of the Interprise family, allowing customers to choose from a suite of proven off-the-shelf application software and development tools, that lower design cycles and speeds time to market.
