Software supports Freescale's latest MCU
The MPC5121e is a powerful, feature-rich processor designed for a wide range of consumer, industrial and automotive telematics and infotainment applications.
Green Hills Software has turned its comprehensive software development solution to the Freescale's MPC5121e microprocessor, built on Power Architecture technology.
Components of the Green Hills Software development toolkit include royalty-free RTOSs, optimising C/C++ compilers for Power Architecture technology, Multi integrated development environment (IDE), virtual prototyping platform, and high-speed hardware probes.
Green Hills Software's uniquely innovative and integrated technology enables developers to create high-performance, highly reliable consumer, industrial/commercial and automotive products, based on the MPC5121e processor, in the least amount of time and at the lowest cost.
"Embedded developers are looking to industry leaders like Green Hills and Freescale for optimised real-time embedded systems solutions", said Mike Bryars, Manager of Freescale's Infotainment, Multimedia and Telematics Operation.
"Green Hills delivers a comprehensive enablement suite designed to address customer requirements for high-quality development tools and real-time operating system support for the MPC5121e processor".
"We are pleased to announce the addition of MPC5121e support to the Green Hills Software product line already used by many customers of the Freescale mobileGT MPC5200 family", stated David Kleidermacher, Chief Technology Officer, Green Hills Software.
"The MPC5121e, with its highly integrated architecture, enables developers to create richer next-generation applications while achieving optimum reliability, security, and performance".
Carmakers and their tier-1 suppliers throughout the world have sold millions of automobiles and trucks with embedded microprocessors running software built with Green Hills Software's tools, because they help ensure the quality and performance of embedded software.
With more than ten thousand users, such as developers at Ford and Toyota, the Multi integrated development environment is a proven technology for multicore software development.
Freescale regularly chooses the Green Hills compilers to publish certified scores on the Embedded Microprocessor Benchmark Consortium (EEMBC) suite.
The Green Hills development tool suite also includes the DoubleCheck static analyser and a high speed virtual prototyping environment.
Green Hills Software's Integrity family of RTOSs enables engineers to develop sophisticated yet highly reliable applications.
Integrity, an open standards-conformant real-time operating system, uses a number of hardware and software mechanisms in order to implement a securely partitioned architecture that ensures time and space protection and prevents errant and malicious tasks from corrupting user data, the kernel, interprocess communications, device drivers and other user tasks.
Integrity also enhances reliability and security by guaranteeing deterministic response for all of its services.
Integrity is integrated with a comprehensive set of middleware, including secure networking, file systems, USB and 2D/3D graphics.
The MPC5121e is a powerful, feature-rich processor designed for a wide range of consumer, industrial and automotive telematics and infotainment applications.
The device's multicore architecture unites a Power Architecture core with a dedicated 2D/3D graphics core and a powerful co-processor enhanced for real-time audio and multimedia.
The combined horsepower makes this processor ideal for next-generation applications that require sophisticated displays, graphics/multimedia acceleration, network connectivity and mass storage.
The MPC5121e processor is automotive-qualified, making it ideal for telematics, connectivity and driver interactive vehicle applications.
The device meets the reliability requirements of the AEC-Q100 standard and TS14969 specification and is designed to withstand harsh environmental conditions.
In addition to addressing telematics, the MPC5121e device can be used in a broad range of embedded applications, such as networked industrial control and security/surveillance systems, networked patient monitoring systems, ultramobile PCs, and gaming and digital home applications, such as media gateways and set-top boxes.
Green Hills Software's Integrity real-time operating system, C/C++ compilers, Green Hills Probes, and advanced multicore Multi IDE are available today for MPC5121e-based application development.
