The FES-4204 and FES-4203/533 are dual Intel Xeon processor server boards based on the leading-edge 533MHz Intel E7501 and ServerWorks GC-LE 533 chipsets

The FES-4204 and FES-4203/533 are dual Intel Xeon processor server boards based on the leading-edge 533MHz Intel E7501 and ServerWorks GC-LE 533 chipsets - which provide the fastest available front-side buses. As the newest members of the Force Embedded Server (FES) product line, these boards offer dual 1.8GHz to 2.8GHz-plus Xeon processors and up to 12Gbyte of double-datarate SDRAM on a 12 x 10in ATX form-factor for high-performance, high-density solutions designed to meet the needs of today's business-critical applications.

The FES-4204 board with dual gigabit Ethernet has been designed for the most advanced 1/2U short-server solutions, while the FES-4203/533 board with quad Gigabit Ethernet is suitable for a diverse range of server applications.

Both boards target network storage, medical imaging, high-end firewalls, streaming media servers, intrusion detection systems (IDS), high end embedded print engines and other demanding uses.

The boards' multiple Gigabit Ethernet interfaces, small footprint and compliance with SSI - server system infrastructure - make these dual Xeon processor-based ATX platforms easy to integrate.

As an option, OEMs can implement IPMI and server management functions with Force's server management daughtercard.

Using many best-of-breed components, the FES-4204 and FES-4203/533 offer OEMs the earliest possible access to state-of-the-art embedded technologies - many before they have become widely adopted - resulting in greatly reduced time-to-market.

The FES-4204 board also offers: a single fast Ethernet interface; a multi-segmented PCI-X architecture (100/133MHz PCI-X slots on riser card); integrated dual-channel Ultra320 SCSI with RAID 0/1; onboard dual EIDE Ultra DMA 100; assembly optional CPLD for watchdog implementation; and optional server management support.

The FES-4203/533 board features: a multi-segmented PCI-X architecture (100/133MHz PCI-X slots on riser card); dual EIDE Ultra DMA 100; and optional server management support.

Both boards will be available through Force's Early Access Unit (EAU) programme in January 2003 with volume shipments scheduled for February 2003.
