Start with the news release Communications appliance for security applications from Portwell Technology, which we summarised at the time by saying "Portwell Technology has announced the CAR-4003 1U communications appliance designed for security applications such as enterprise internet security, firewall, network access control and more.". Several months prior to that, we featured the news release Cooling package designed for MicroTCA applications from Rittal: "The Compact Cooling Package (CCP) from Rittal is designed for use in MicroTCA applications where significant amounts of heat are being generated to provide targeted cooling.".
In June 2010, we covered the news from Kontron - take a look at Silent server for data centre managers and OEMs which says: "The Kontron industrial silent server Kiss 4U KTC5520 features an Extended ATX motherboard and is ideal for medical, industrial imaging and military applications.".
