High-density computing from half-height server
The System 1H from Force Computers is a half-depth 1U platform and the newest member of the Flexor family of embedded systems
Designed to NEBS Level 3 requirements for harsh operating conditions and offered as standard with a low-power 400MHz Celeron processor-based single host board (SHB) and three 64bit e-PCI-X expansion slots, this very small form-factor platform can meet application requirements for extremely high-density computing via its capability for back-to-back installation of systems in one rack with up to 84 servers possible in a six-foot rack.

Italtel to apply central office platform
Italtel will base its next-generation iMSS media servers, media gateway servers and signalling servers on Force's new Centellis CO 31KX AdvancedTCA modular communications platform
Aimed at OEMs designing communications, networking and other data-intensive applications, the System 1H meets the needs of e-commerce vendors, telecomms providers and others for cost-effective web hosts, firewalls, virtual private networks and other Internet functionality.
Designed and manufactured to meet NEBS Level 3 requirements and current PICMG specifications, the System 1H server helps to complete the Flexor line of products to provide a set of complementary solutions designed to meet any price/performance target.
With System 1H, the Flexor portfolio now offers OEMs a selection of products from a half-depth 1U server up to a fully configured 4U system.
Compared to off-the-shelf products, it meets exact OEM needs from exclusive branding to custom engineering as Force operates from a global footprint of design centres, backed by Solectron's ISO9001 certified processes and supply-chain management expertise.
Compliant with PICMG 1.2 R1.0, the System 1H server offers one of the most cost-effective options for network clustering as well as space-constrained environments and is the smallest standard form-factor embedded solution on the market.

High availability for wireless LAN solution
Kineto Wireless has used Force Computers' EndurX high-availability system platform based on Intel architecture processors in its MoWLAN
The platform features: three half-length 64bit ePCI-X slots; 10.65in half-depth profile; internal EIDE hard disk drive (Ultra IDE-33 support) or optional Flash drive; 128Mbyte memory; dual Ethernet and RS232 serial interfaces; reversible I/O for customisable front- or rear-side access; and either a 125W AC or 48W DC power factor correction PSU.
Based on PICMG PCI/ISA standard passive backplane technology, the Flexor line provides a range of processors, backplanes and enclosures that combine to create platforms to match OEM requirements.
PICMG passive backplane technology offers advantages of low-cost peripherals and I/O cards from the PC market but with flexibility and reliability standard that PCs cannot match.
Combined with Force's commitment to quality and longevity, Flexor products offer optimum industrial/embedded computing solutions.
System 1H embedded servers will be available through Force's Early Access Unit (EAU) program in April 2002 with volume shipments scheduled for May 2002.
