Kineto Wireless has used Force Computers' EndurX high-availability system platform based on Intel architecture processors in its MoWLAN

Kineto's MoWLAN solution enables service providers to take advantage of VoIP and WLANs to deliver high-performance mobile voice and data services indoors at significantly lower cost than existing mobile network technologies. By deploying a MoWLAN solution, service providers can allow their subscribers to roam seamlessly between mobile networks and WLANs with a single handset for voice and data services.

As a result, subscribers can now use their mobile phone as their main communications device, and fixed and mobile service providers can maximise their revenue potential and profitability from subscribers' increased use of the mobile phone.

"For core network equipment used to deliver uninterrupted service to customers, service providers demand a true carrier-grade solution", said John Perry, Vice President of Engineering at Kineto Wireless.

"We've been working closely with Force for over a year to leverage their EndurX platform into our flagship product, Kineto INC-5501, so that it meets the most stringent service provider reliability, service availability and scalability requirements".

"Kineto Wireless recognised the benefits that standards-based communications platforms offer in terms of reduced time-to-market and operating costs", said Kevin D Johnson, Director, Intel Communications Alliance.

"By utilising Intel silicon-based platforms from Force Computers, Kineto was able to develop this highly flexible solution while meeting the rigorous reliability requirements service providers require".

"Force is proud that Kineto selected our carrier-grade EndurX HA platform to help deliver a standards-based solution for converging mobile, Voice over IP and wireless LANs", said Chris Williams, Force Vice President and General Manager of Worldwide Product and Strategic Marketing and Engineering.

Traditionally, high availability systems only offered 99.999% uptime on a component or subsystem level.

By building on Force's high availability architecture and the Service Availability Forum open specifications, Force's EndurX platform gives Kineto Wireless a value-added, platform-agnostic solution that is scalable across multiple chassis and is highly interoperable with third-party components.

Force is a Premier Member of the Intel Communications Alliance.
