The F35-XXL-SI is a smart GSM/GPRS/GPS embedded OEM module that combines the advantages of a standardised module with those of an open platform, bringing together the best of both worlds.

The XXL concept integrates dual-band GPRS class B, multislot class 8 core, 12-channel high-efficiency low-power GPS core and fully featured 32bit RISC CPU core with eCos RTOS into a form factor of just 95 x 50 x 15mm.

The onboard V850SA1 RISC CPU core provides embedded system designers with up to 2Mbyte Flash and SRAM, 4Kbyte EEPROM, RTC, watchdog, four UARTs, eight GPIOs, eight GPIs (digital or analogue) and 16bit multiplexed address and databus.

The system software package comprises eCos as a fully featured real-time operating system, RedBoot debug and bootstrap monitor, C libraries (standard GNU-Tools), device drivers (serial, Flash, I/O ports, I2C, RTC, watchdog), Comm-Lib for GPS/ALARM demo application, GPS/Alarm demo application as open source, TCP/IP and PPP stack.

Hard- and software designers are supported by a complete XXL-Evalkit that contains one F35-XXL-SI sample, evaluation board with reference design schematics, a full set of accessories and a CD with complete system software package.

The F35-XXL-SI represents a unique convergence of complexity and flexibility into a single OEM module.

It permits fast, cost-effective integration of tailor made system solutions.

The F35-XXL concept reduces the BOM cost as well as complex, time-consuming system integration evaluation and integration tests, thus getting OEMs to market at least 6-8 months faster.

The open nature of the XXL concept makes the device perfect for the broadest M2M application spectrum like fleet management, AVL, traffic control, telematics, telemetry, remote monitoring, wireless vending, security systems and many others.

XXL-Evalkits with engineering samples are available now.
