Core takes convertor
onboard for easy embedding
Rabbit Semiconductor's newest RCM3400 core module is the first RabbitCore with onboard analogue-digital convertors
Rabbit Semiconductor's newest RCM3400 core module - now available from 2001 Electronic Components - is the first RabbitCore with onboard analogue-digital convertors. The RCM3400 RabbitCore is the ideal option for designers who want to speed embedded systems development and time-to-market. Measuring only 35 x 29 x 7.4mm, the RCM3400 mounts directly on a user-designed motherboard and CAN interface with all manner of CMOS-compatible digital devices.

Small claims for RF modules
The latest low-power radio modules from Radiocrafts are reckoned to be the smallest in the industry
The RCM3400 also contains built-in low-EMI features, including a clock spectrum spreader, that practically eliminates EMI problems, helping OEMs pass CE and regulatory RF emissions tests.
Powered by the Rabbit 3000 microprocessor, the RCM3400 runs at 29.4MHz.
This efficient 8bit core module operates at a power-saving 3.3V (with 5V-tolerant I/O).
An eight-channel single-ended/four-channel differential input 12bit A/D convertor with voltage reference and programmable gain is provided.
Two module options offer 256 or 512Kbyte each of Flash and SRAM.

Coaxial switch aims for 75ohm applications
The Series CCR-33M coaxial switch from Teledyne Relays is a single-pole, double-throw device designed for optimum performance in 75ohm applications
Both are equipped with quadrature decoder, PWM outputs, and pulse capture capabilities.
Two 34-pin connection headers provide 47 digital I/O shared with the five serial ports.
The RCM3400 also features a battery-backable real-time clock, glueless memory and I/O interfacing, and low-power "sleepy" modes.
A fully enabled slave port permits easy master-slave interfacing between processor-based systems.
I/O can be expanded using the alternate I/O bus which can be configured for eight data lines and six address lines.
All these features make the RCM3400 very suitable for remote logging and control of analogue systems.
Programs may be developed using Rabbit's Dynamic C development system; a low-cost C-language environment that includes editor, compiler and in-circuit debugger.
Programs are downloaded from the users PC directly to the hardware using a serial programming cable.
The Dynamic C CD includes an extensive library of drivers and sample programs along with a royalty-free TCP/IP stack with source code and documentation.
A complete RCM3400 development kit is available and includes development board with prototyping area, serial cable for programming and debugging, getting started manual, and Dynamic C SE software development system with documentation on CD-ROM.
A key feature on the development kit is the provision of a 10/100Base-T Ethernet interface.
This may be used as a reference design for those customers wishing to incorporate network connectivity into their end design.
The Dynamic C SE CD includes royalty-free TCP/IP stack and software libraries to support this function.
All RCM3400 modules are delivered pre-programmed with unique MAC ID for this purpose.
2001 Electronic Components maintains extensive stock of the complete range of Rabbit Semiconductors microprocessors, core modules and development kits.
